Kate Westwood

 

I am an artist based in South Derbyshire, specialising in contemporary paintings and prints. I earned my BA in Art and Design from Leeds University and, throughout the years, have experimented with a variety of media, techniques and concepts.  

 

When I first began to sell my work, I was doing small scale, highly detailed work which, although enjoyable, didn't allow me the creative freedom to truly express myself as an artist. Over the last few years I have found a love of abstract art. I love the juxtapositon of blended elegant textures alongside solid, harsh lines. I always incorporate an element of light and dark extremes to create a dramatic aesthetic.  

 

Other than using my website, I sell my work at fairs and exhibitions around the UK. Please get in touch if you are interested in my work. I always welcome commissions.
